Most frequent questions

• Who translates my document?

  All documents are translated by our team of 100% human translators to guarantee your translation will be accurate and authentic to the original document.

• How long does the translation take?

  Turnaround time depends on the document’s word count. Most documents are delivered within 2-3 business days. Expedited turnaround is also available for documents that need to be delivered within 24 hours or less.

• What languages do you translate?

  You can place an online order for documents that need to be translated from or to portuguese, spanish, and english. For other languages we ask you to request a quote, we can still assist you.

• What documents do you translate?

  We can translate any type of document. Review the list of the most common translated documents.

• Will my translation be accepted by the USCIS or other institutions?

  We offer certified translations that comply with USCIS translation requirements to guarantee your translation will be accepted. The same certification is also generally accepted by government institutions, courts, universities, etc. Some institutions may have specific requirements such as document notarization. If you have any questions, contact us with a list of their requirements so we can assist you.

• Can I supply notes to my translator?

  Yes. On the checkout form there is a field where you can enter any notes such as the spelling of names or dates that might be illegible on the scanned document.

• Is my information secure?

  Your information is secure and private. Files are only available to Legacy Translations essential staff with Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) and only while your order is active.

• Do you evaluate foreign credentials?

  Evaluation of foreign credentials are not offered by us. We can provide a certified translation of your academic documents, which you will then submit along with your source documents to a specialist to evaluate the credentials to find the equivalences in your target country.

• Can you fill out forms for me?

  We might be able to assist you with individual forms. Contact us for more information.

• Is Legacy Translations an ATA member?

  We are a corporate member of the American Translators Association (ATA) with membership #275993.

• Can I send you a physical copy of my document?

  We do not accept physical documents. We only accept digital files to expedite the translation process and guarantee your document is safe and protected.
